Today marks day one of my Clean Program. I’ve never done anything remotely close to this, so it should be fun! I’m part-way through day one and feeling pretty good. I’m a little hungry at the moment and drinking loads of water to stave off the pangs in my belly. This morning I made my first smoothie—a blueberry, almond milk, carob powder concoction that was delicious! I can stick with this. I cooked my lunch last night and totally rocked out a balsamic vinegar reduction. I don’t even know what that means, but it sure was tasty brushed on chicken! Tonight, I will make some sort of soup I think. My whole goal or intention of doing this cleanse is to help me eat more mindful. Half the time, I feel like I get home from skiing/running/the gym and eat the first thing that comes in contact with my hands. This program is helping me slow down and place a lot of care into what I’m putting into my body. All of the meals that I’m preparing will help rid my body of the toxins that have built up over the years from eating packaged and processed foods. So long Pixie Stix and Jimmy John’s!
